Gloria Walker, a GCBHS Board member and Executive Director of the NAMI Urban Greater Cincinnati Network on Mental Illness, was honored by the Hamilton County Mental Health & Recovery Services Board at their annual meeting which took place on Friday, September 9th. at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.
Ms. Walker who became involved with mental health committees and boards almost 30 years ago, was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award for her ongoing work through NAMI Urban Greater Cincinnati which was launched in 2000. "One of the best ways...and the most influential ways that you can get involved," says Gloria, "is getting on committees and getting on Boards. You can help make changes that will be beneficial to you, to your community, to the people you love in the long-term."
Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services congratulates Gloria on this very well deserved and prestigious award. We also want to thank her for her many years of service not only to NAMI Urban Greater Cincinnati but also to #GCBHS, as well as the Greater Cincinnati community.
